Love Thyself And The Rest Will Follow – Part Two

Back in college, I had this friend who I’ll call SG who I became close with as our senior year began. We met through a mutual friend I was roommates with before she graduated and we realized we had much in common. We liked the same music and laughed at the same stuff which easily made us partners in crime. When I look back to our friendship and how it then fell apart, I could spot some of the signs as to why it didn’t work out. I probably noticed them during the life of our relationship but I refused to pay attention because I was addicted to the companionship. Boy oh boy was that bad.

Love Thyself And The Rest Will Follow – Part One

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching this Saturday, there are probably a lot of people who are feeling levels of loneliness heightened by the knowledge that they’re single and won’t be spending that day with someone “special.” Let’s get one thing straight, you are all the special you need for that day. I’ve spent more V-days single than I have in a relationship and there’s a lot I learned from them worth sharing. This week begins a mini feature on love and relationships I’m calling “Love Thyself and The Rest Will Follow.”

Am I The Next Stephanie Meyer? I Hope to Hell Not.

So, if you recall, some days ago I posted a list of goals I had for this blog. One of them was to use this as a platform to start sharing my writing in the hopes of maybe publishing a novel someday if I’m good enough or if people actually want to read it maybe? Anyway! I created a page where additional excerpts and chapters for the untitled writing project will go right here.

If you wanna, please take the time to read it and comment on it. I kind of just write from the heart, edit later, and hope for the best. If you think I should quit while I’m ahead, tell me. I probably won’t, because my haters are my greatest motivators, but don’t be afraid to be honest with me.

If I Write These Down, Will You Keep Me Accountable?

Blogging 201 has started, woo hoo! How much did I fail to finish off 101 on time? Majorly. How much better do I want to do this time around? SO MUCH. But holy crap, so many new things have been developing in my life in the last month and it’s become hard to focus my attention on just this. I then get bogged down with shame feelings because I want to have an awesome and successful blog, but I’m not doing the work to get it done. Unfortunately, this isn’t like college where I could like…not study until the last-minute, then somehow still crank out a B+ paper. This is the internet. It’s like, seriously life-changing, you know?

Five Things (YouTube Version)

Finding a new style to post in is posing to be difficult for me because I love sharing my feelings with GIFs! The main goal of this blog is for readers to know me better and that’s by learning that I watch too much TV and many movies and that I’ve forgotten how to communicate like a normal human being. Therefore, this is a silly assignment and I refuse to do it! Correctly.

But, on the other hand, I can communicate with videos! I used to be big into YouTube, even had a channel with subscribers I didn’t have to pay off or anything! I’ve fallen off heavily in the last 4 years, but I happened to be scrolling through my favorite videos and laughing at what kind of stuff I was interested in at the time. Twilight movie trailer? Check (btw, I’m reformed). Makeup tutorials I never used. YESSIR. Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance of “Dumb”? You got it.

After the cut, here’s five videos that tell you more about me. Please don’t judge.

Golden Globes 2015

This is in no way a fashion blog, but what I love about awards season is THE FASHION. I feel like in my 20s I should have had more chances to get dolled up in a  gown and show out.

But since that has yet to happen, I choose to live vicariously through celebrities and their beautiful designer everything. My winner for the night, thus far? Kate Hudson:

SLAY MAMA! She wears a lot of white during award shows and can clearly pull it off. This Versace Versace Versace is giving me Vegas showgirl realness and I’m loving it? Ba-da-da-da-da

But who else were some of my faves? After the cut!
